I was going through a bidding war on ebay for old canon printers and decided to visit kopykake website to see if they recommended any newer models before I spent way too much for an older printer (new in box). I was excited to find that they make edible ink for epson printers as well including the one I have sitting next to me that has never been used and it was free!! I am very excited!! I am wondering if anyone knows if epson is just as good. I am going to give it a try anyway. This is all new to me. Thanks in advance. By the way, people are paying $200 for $50 canon printers on ebay! I just cannot bring myself to do it!!
I just bought an epson cx 3810 all in one printer brand new off amazon for $30 and free shipping all the way to ALASKA and it came UPS. They must have spent more on shipping than on what I paid for it. (you know how if you buy more than $25 you get free shipping on amazon? it was with that)
I have to admit I haven't bought the inks yet. But I bought the epson because a)I got a fantastic price on it and b) I hear it clogs less and has fewer problems than canon's. You do I guess need the chip resetter from KK to reset the chips in the cartridges if you refill the ink?? not sure about that though.
Hi Amy, I am not sure about purchasing chips but I do not think I would refill myself. I will just buy new cartridges. I tried to refill an ink cartridge once, years ago and it was a bad experience and I swore I would never do it again.
Thanks for the info though.
I haven't decided if I want to refill them myself or not. The one time I tried with a regular ink catridge did not end well, LOL.
I have the epson cx4200 all in one and I love it. The epsons don't have a print head so shouldn't have the clogging problem the canons do. The ship resetter isn't just for refilling the cartridges. When the cartridges get low they need to be reset so you can continue to use them (at least that's what I've read on many post here). You can get chip resetters on ebay much cheaper than from kopykake.
I have an epson printer i use for my edible images, it takes 4 cartridges and they cost $75.00 and they dont go as far as they tell you they do, I bought the refill kit and the chip resetter which you have to have and believe me its nothing like trying to refill regular ink cartridges, I ruined 2 printers tryin to do that,...the edible ink cartridges I bought from kopykake has a rubber plug in it and very easy to remove... the bottles of ink has a needle you twist on top of the bottle and just add your ink replace the plug...just be careful my legs were blue for days LOL where i dripped it on me..theres a couple of pics ive done in my photos...hope this helps...Ronda
