I did that one time. There is this man and what I THOUGHT was his mom (but it was his wife) that take their kid to the park I go to a couple of times a week. Their son is an autistic child, and I always try to be really nice because some of the other mothers are very judgemental about the way the boy behaves. Anyways, the woman was talking to me one day about the boy, about how hard it was, etc. She had long, completely gray hair.
The next time I saw them at the park, the man didn't remeber that I had met them before and when their son started acting up, said "I'm sorry, he's autistic."
I said "I know, I talked to your mom a couple of days ago."
He got really embarrassed and told me it was his wife. icon_redface.gif I felt like such a jerk!

oh this checkout girl was pretty stupid. She gave us a bunch of free stuff once, even argued with me when I told her she'd undercharged. Needless to say, she didn't work there very long...

I learned quite some time ago not to ask someone that question unless it is very obvious that they are pregnant!
I actually am pregnant right now and I am loving that baby doll shirts are the new style. I haven't had to shop in the maternity section and pay much more!
My friend at work made the mistake a few months ago of asking a girl if she was pregnant and it was just the shirt. She was so embarassed, and her husband reminded her that nowadays, many pregnant women actually wear tight-fitting or short shirts that show off their bellies! Not this chic though.

The empire waist/babydoll shirts are all the rage right now. I don't associate them with pregnancy anymore and I love them. I'm sure you looked great.

From where I stand especially at the moment actually being pregnant I think its wonderful that the baby doll tops are in!! That way I can look and feel just as fashionable as everyone else!!! I'm glad everyone loves them too.

This reminds me of all the times in high school that kids thought my mom was my grandma (she has been grey since I was born; says I made her hair turn grey). Or the time a cashier asked my mom if she had a Golden Buckeye card (an Ohio discount card for senior citizens; she was in her 40s!) icon_cry.gificon_eek.gificon_surprised.gif I'm the baby of the family, so I had one of the older moms in school, while a lot of my friends were the oldest, so their moms were younger. Now I'm the young mom! (There are some moms at my son's school that could be my mom! LOL! I love it!).

I have a few of the baby dolls...and I always get the look when I wear them. I like really loose things, though, so I wear them anyway.

I had a tummy tuck last year...after my fourth baby my ab muscles had separated, and I literally looked 6 months pregnant, and got asked that question ALL. THE. TIME. The Friday before my surgery, a worker at the grocery store asked when I was due, and I just sighed and said MONDAY (surgery day) b/c I didn't want to embarrass her (although I should have). I figured she'd forget the whole incident. Well, I went in two months after surgery, and she REMEMBERED ME, and asked how the delivery went, and I told her "What delivery? Nope, not me". She then pushes the issue..."are you SURE you weren't pregnant?" At this point, I should have just said the whole truth, but I just looked at her and said, "am I SURE that I just didn't have a baby? Yes, I'm sure".

Sheesh. Stupid people...
