I just purchased the Wilton long loaf pan and want to make a fowerbox cake. Iwould love to have a good chocolate layer cake maybe like two layers of filling but don't have any good recipes. Iplan on using chocolate icing basketweave for the flower box with fondant or cookie flowers on sticks.

Any help for a good chocolate cake with two or more layer fillings. only using one cake so Iwas thinking I would torte (think that is the right word) two times after leveling.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

I always make my chocolate cake frm scratch using my best ever chocolate cake recipe... icon_biggrin.gif
Here's the recipe...

Devilicious Chocolate Cake

170 gm unsalted butter
2 cups sugar
3 large eggs

1 tsp instant coffee
1 tsp hot water
1 tsp vanilla flavouring

2 cups flour
1/2 cups cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder

7 oz cold water

Method:
1. Beat butter in a mixer. Add in sugar & continue beating. Add eggs & beat until fluffy.
2. Mix coffee, hot water & vanilla. Add this paste in the butter mixture.
3. Sieve all the flour mixture & fold in lightly in the butter mixture using a baloon whisk.
4. Lastly, add cold water in the batter. mix until well incorporated.
5. Pour the batter in a lined tin & bake in the oven at 350 F for about 50 mins to 1 hour.

* I usually bake my cake in a square 8" pan & I just slice em into 2 - 3 layers. Hope you can try this recipe.
