I am back from a much needed vacation in Orange Beach, Alabama.
It was fantastic...The water was perfect--it did get a little choppy the last 2 days.
I didn't even THINK about cakes this year. I did have several calls for orders tho. Silly me...I took my cellphone. And there was one bakery there called Pattycakes that I was tempted to go in on my last day but talked myself out of it.
So now I am ready to hit the ground running...I have a wedding for this coming weekend and several cookie orders.
If anybody wants to vacation in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, let me know and I will let you know all the great eatin' places--I think I gained 10 pounds (this is our 6th year for vacationing there).
I love gulf shores we go there very 2 years. did you get a condo? we stayed at westwind one year and the enclave the other year. We ate at the shrimp basket one time it was good and the giggling grouper up in Fo;ey another time.. Love it where was a good place to eat?
Silver Beach is right next to the Enclave. We were going to stay there again but SeaChase sent us a 20% discount coupon so it ended up being less expensive there. This was the 1st year they have re-opened to renting condos since Hurricane Ivan hit them in 2003.
We love to eat at Bubba's on the strip there...they have a fantastic Cajun Fish Fillet. Has this wonderful meunierre sauce and chopped pecans on top. We also like Cotton's--prime rib is remarkable. We used to like Live Bait but terribly disappointed this year. And Monterrey for Mexican food...it's right across from Enclave in the Winn Dixie shopping center.
Bought me 2 baby red ear slider turtles from Alvin's Island...they are adorable. Spent all weekend setting up their tank. Now to go fix dinner. Nothing like reality....sigh!!!!
