Hi cake pople,
I posted a few weeks back reagrding what was the best way to add fresh flowers to a cake.
The bride wanted the top of the cake covered so I knew if I stuck them in it would make a mess of the top cake.
Anyway 2 people gave me some ideas and I just wanted to say thanks. I ended up doing what you suggested with a twist. I got a cake cardboard, covered the top in ganache to match the cake and then cut the rose stems right up to the head as far as it would go. I them stuck the roses to the ganache and then placed the board on the cake. I then got some more ganche and filled in the gaps and viola....it looked great.
