I am hoping some of you great cookie designers can help me. I tried searching the gallery but i come up with nothing. I have a friend who is an esthetician and we are working on a deal where i would do regular cookies (chocolate chip, oatmeal..blah blah) for her clients as christmas gifts so i can advertise and she just pay the actual cost. I want to do something WOW that would make the customer remember me so I thought of doing each package with one cookie of a face with either green "stuff"...yes that's a technical term icon_biggrin.gif .... or a face with a turban and cucumbers over the eyes.

Has anyone ever seen or has done cookies like this that they could show me. I SUCK at decorating cookies and I don't want them to look too cartoony so i need help......please.....pretty please..... icon_smile.gif

TIA

wow lots of looks and no comments for you....I found an image that I think wouldn't be too hard to make into a cookie. I am planning on making some cookies tonight for the Theme Of The Month Club, so I can try my hand at it and see how it turns out. When I get it down I will post it here. It is a profile view of a woman with a towel on her head, "green stuff" on her face and a cucumber on her eye. =)

quick question though, if you say you suck at doing cookies how are you planning on doing this? Do you mean you suck at coming up with your own ideas, or actually doing the cookies? Just curious. =) I hope I am not sounding rude!

Thanks freddyfl I was wondering if anyone could help me. I can't wait to see them. I did find some clipart i was going to try to replicate. I guess when I say I suck it's that the cookies i have done are simple not like yours where you have so much detail. yours like a drawing on the cookie.....I can't draw. So I know what I want to do it's just I don't know how to "draw" it on the cookie....and no not rude at all. icon_smile.gif

Thanks

I am not good at drawing on paper....but something that really helps, is to break the cookie down into sections in my mind.....so I look at the picture and then section it up. so I will "draw" the top right corner of the picture onto my cookie....which means if the picture has about a one inch curve in the top right corner, then I draw a one inch curve on my cookie....I find that much easier than trying to draw the hole big picture.....Sometimes I even fold the picture up into sections and then put it right next to my cookie. It really does make a difference. =)

okay, I tried to make it for you...keep in mind they are really rough, because I was tired and using icing colors I already had from my backyardigans cookies to make them. But I think it could work if you practiced doing a few of them. Again, don't judge these...LOL....they aren't going in my album LOL.

the coloring on the purple one is odd because of the flash...it was not splotchy.

I am glad that I was able to help. I sent you a pm with the image that I used as a template. After I cut them out I went back and added some more detailed lines to the profile with the knife.

Wow! Those are beautiful!!!

You could always do an edible image for the special cookie. It wouldn't be too pricey since you would only use one edible image per gift and can get multiple images on one page.

I tend to do more cutesy cookies than real-to-life. My idea for you is to use the Wilton girl cookie cutter, wrap her in a white towel (either RI or fondant), a white headband, and give her a cute bright green face.
