I'm a newbie and if I make the 3D duck cake (to look like a mallard) and put it on top of another cake...maybe a 9X13 or 10 X 15, do I need to do anything special to hold it on there??? Will it be too heavy to sit there???

I don't know how to stack cakes...haven't done that yet.

Thanks for any and all help.

HI, funny... I just did a cake like that this past weekend, it is in my gallery. You have to use support. Use dowels, I use wood. (you get them at michaels) Anyway, choose where you want the cake (duck) and mark it. Then cut 3 dowels the height of your base cake and insert them in. Then cut a cake board, place it on top and then place the duck on the board. I also did use a central dowel to hold not only the weight of the duck but to hold it in place, and I inserted it in an angle. HTH. Let me know if I can help you anymore.

I basically did the same thing as nefgaby, but used a few more dowels. I had to drive with it for about 45 minutes and was paranoid!
