Just curious to know what you guys like to use with lustre dust and why, or if you just like to use it dry.

Revised to include a poll.

Everclear, it evaporates the quickest. Bonus: I think you can get drunk of the fumes. icon_lol.gif

My husband keeps telling me to take a shot but I'm still not brave/dumb enough to.

I've only tried lemon extract, but it worked well. It smells good too! icon_smile.gif

To some it is like taking a "shot". You do feel a little like your going to die. Drunk x10.

Im glad it doesnt have any effect on the cake with the dust.

have any of you got curious and tried something like flavored smirnoffs or gin or something completly different but strong enough to work?

while playing with my first 2g of dust i tested all the alcohol in my house to just see what would happen. cool things. figured out how to make a amaretto sour cake.

i experiment too much...............and off to tinker with MMF flavors

I use lemon extract because the small amount of oil in it helps to decrease clumping and adds just enough to the drying time to allow smooth, even coverage when painting.

Everclear as well, it dries faster and doesn't have an oil base.

what does vanilla extract do? I bought some today and will be using it for the first time tomorrow. I was told to use a couple drops of vodka to about 1/4 tsp gold dust. Any advice on how to apply it evenly as if a thin sheet covering a small smooth surface?
