Glossy Effect

How do you achieve a glossy effect on cookies??
If you use Royal Icing (Like Antionia74's recipe) it's natrually glossy.
Is that what you mean? Or do you want even more, like to add luster dust? That wouldn't be glossy, it would be more like shimmer as in an eye shadow would be.

I usually use Antonia's but for some reason it get really matte, not glossy at all, I was wondering if there is another kind of icing or something that I can spary the cookies with?? Am I dreaming?? LOL
What is that?? where do I get it? How do I use it?
Sorry fo asking so many questions ![]()
Are you asking after the colorflow or the confectioners glaze? I've no idea what confectioner's glaze is, but here's some info about colorflow... please disregard if it's not what you were looking for ![]()
colorflow is a powder you mix into your royal icing instead of meringue powder...
1 lb confectioners sugar
2 tbsp colorflow icing mix
1/2 cup + 1 tsp water
Using an electric mixer blend all ingredients on low speed for 7 minutes. stir in desired icing colors.
it gets a really nice sheen/pearly effect to it and behaves very much in the same way as royal icing. you can get the color flow icing mix anywhere you get wilton stuff (Michaels, Joanns etc)
HTH
Thank you jillchap, I used colorflow before but never on cookies, I'll have to try it and see how it is.
I have no idea what is confection's glaze or where to get it.
