I just 'almost' finished a cake to deliver in 2 hours...it's an elephant in MMF and I forgot his ears!!!! I made about 2 hours ago but I'm sure they won't dry hard enough to stay on. The ears are apprx. 4" x 5" and not too thick.

I have more MMF but all I have to add to it is meringue powder...will this work? Or any other tip?....Can I just blow a fan or blow dryer on them (cold!)

THANKS!!

This is the stuffed elephant that copied. The ears don't need to stick out too far.

I'm actually having about the same problem, exept I'm making a bow and my cake is not due until tomorrow. But, I have put fondant in a dehydrator before and it did work. It took a while but it it did dry it out faster. Good Luck!

if you mix gumpaste with the fondant about 50/50 it will dry faster and harder i'm not sure if you have gumpaste . sorry that is the only thing i could think of i hope the ears turn out okay and the bow for the other cc person posting

Gumpaste would definitely be the quicker solution. It dries much faster.

Thanks ..I did put it in the dehydrator for a few minutes & then I panicked that I was making it softer & took them out. I am running the cold air from the blow dryer right now. Why it is the dang stuff dries so fast when you don't want it to!?!

I am going to attempt to "glue" it to some thin cardboard & put more on the back...cross your fingers that it holds!

If this isn't enough...my husband keeps pointing out that that the back of my cake is "square" & the toy is rounded...true...but what's he think I'm going to do now!! I'd like to see him make one. I'm trying not to be too hard on myself and he points everything out like I'm clueless!
"It's not an exact relpica"..HE says..."They're going to be disappointed that they paid for a square cake"...HE says.
"Maybe they'll offer you a piece & you'll choke on it"...SHE doesn't say........
