which one do you have? I have an amaco type I got from micheals in the clay department and it is wonderful. I did have to try it on several settings before I found one I like.
But mine has the # settings on the dial you turn.

Sorry I forgot to put the type I have. Mine is also a Amaco from Joanns clay dept.. It has the numbers on the knob but is there a mark to say which number it is set to? Also, do you know what setting is what thickness?

Which ever number is on the top. You just have to look straight down on the thing and which ever number is on top of the knob, that's the number. LOL! Does that make sense?

O.K. I took my rolling pin rings for my rolling pin that each is 1/16 1/8 and 3/16 of an inch.
I opened the roller machine all the way to 9 and the 1/16 of an inch ring is a perfect fit so that is the thickest your fondant or gum paste will get. Which is what I use mine on when doing my flowers I've done!

I usually start on the widest setting with a chunk of paste or gum and then put it through till it gets as thin as I need it.
