Does anyone have experience with piping details with royal icing onto fondant? Just wondering if the shortening in the fondant would break down the royal icing. Thanks for your help!

Dragon cake in my pics the face in royal icing on buttercream - NO problem at all. I can not remember the cookie company but they use fondant and decorate with royal. I bought their book.

Would you just put a small dab of icing where you want the royal piece to go ( assuming you made the royal decorations ahead of time ) and then stick it to the fondant?

Not sure what medium you mean by fondant [ we just had this discussion on another post] In the UK we call fondant sugarpaste and royal icing can be piped onto sugarpaste with no problem at all. I do it all of the time to pipe dots or shells or cornelli work.

This is royal piped onto sugarpaste
