Hi!
Can anyone suggest a site that does FREE websites? Someplace tried & true.
I need something easy to use. I haven't had time to learn HTML etc.
Google has an easy to use one that looks professional but it is for personal use only.
But it is the style I am looking for.
Hopefully one that lets you add a lot of pictures/pages because besides a cake site I also need to make a craft site (soon(now!)) so people can Christmas shop & order holiday cakes.
If not a free site a really cheap one. I'm hoping not to commit to a monthly fee until I am selling more.
A one time yearly fee ($25) would be ok but not much more since I need to make two sites...or can I make one site with two separate names/businesses?
I mostly want to send it to friends & friends of friends etc to see how things go. I don't have a large volume of pcs (crafts) maybe 50 right now. And cakes of course would be the same way because I can't ship & I bake at home ( no licence) but I want to show my work. I have a Shutterfly album but I want something professional looking to show my cakes.

There are lots of free sites like Geocities and yahoo, just be advised that if you get a free site they are going to advertise anything they durn well please on your site. I tried a free one once and they were actually advertising another bakery on my site!! I said "never again". I now go through 'GoDaddy.com' and am thoroughly pleased. If I pay the year in advance it's not that expensive, and you can have as many sites on it as you want. You just register how ever many domain names and go for it!
Try Yahoo! Webhosting. They have a starter package for $11.95 per month and it is great. The Yahoo sitebuilder you download is so easy to use too. I have done several websites with it. It is not free but is cheap and sooo easy.
I don't think there is such a place Marecip, but it's well worth a try to scout around. By far the cheapest way to get it done would be to either learn HTML or get someone to do it for you. You can get lots of info from www.yourhtmlsource.com, and have your site running within 1 day and then you only have to pay for hosting.

I used yahoo. I just signed up last week and the first 3 months are $8.95, then it goes to $11.95/month. It also had a free set up. It was pretty easy but had some cheesey backgrounds. Here is mine, www.serendipitycakes.com but mine is not done yet. I did that much in 2 days. I just haven't gotten back to it yet.

How about use Microsoft! It is completely free, you get a domain name, and there is an easy online designer for you to use. I have tried it not with my current website but for one that I designed for a friend. So I would check into that. However you will need a credit card, they do not charge this card, they just use it for id verify.
My grandaughter did mine. I paid for the domain name and send her e-mails with new photos and descriptions and she maintains and does everything I want her to do. I send her a check once a month and it is worth every penny! (and it isn't much) she is 13 and saving for an expensive computer and a trip to England.
My web page is only about $40.00 a year and it is myhosting.com. I am very pleased.

I'd recommend GoDaddy.com as well! Domain names are on an annual basis, they keep your information private, and they also offer software to develop your site (among other perks). Check them out if you have the time. Good luck with your website, I'm sure it will be wonderful 
Thank you all for the suggestions. Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I haven't been online much. I have tried a few & they aren't quite right for me or I need more time to play on them. I still haven't looked into GoDaddy but I will.

Thank you marecip for posting this question! As you can tell if you click on my (www) my gallery is not working. It's part of my family's website that my BIL operates and his router keeps going down and I'm so frustrated telling him when it does that I just quit telling him. Now it's been down for a week 
so I just need to create my own. Does GoDaddy give a detailed tutorial on how to create the site? Can we use our own graphics or just theirs other than our pictures of course!

I bought a domain name at yahoo for $1.99/yr, then I forwarded the name to my website at freewebs.com. They are free and they do advertise on your site which I don't like, but you can pay $4.99 to have your site upgraded and remove the advertisements. I plan to do that as soon as I find the time
