Does anyone use polymer clay to practice sculpting figures? I want to improve my sculpting abilities, but I don't want to keep making MMF or candy clay. I was wondering if the polymer clay has the same consistency (I tried Play-Doh and it is too smushy) as MMF or candy clay? Also can it be reused or do the colors blend too much or does it harden?

Thanks!

I have used polymer clay, and also thought it was a great way to practice. It isn't musy at all. A little stiffer than MMF. It will stay soft until/or if you bake it. The colors won't blend unless you "spread" the seams so they won't show. For practice I just use one color. You could also use sculpting clay. It comes in a larger package and is all one color. It also stays soft until/or if you bake it.

How about using play-do or plastacine...just to get an idea how to put the figures together.
