I have probably a dumb question and I"m sorry icon_smile.gif But how do you attach the ribbon to the cakes when using it around the bottom of the cake? And can this ribbon be used on bc? It doesn't discolor the ribbon? Any special tricks I need to know??? Also I'm planning on topping a cake with some fake flowers, just like 3 daisy heads...do I just put them on top or do I need to 'secure' them on somehow??

As always, thank you so much!

There are lots of threads with ideas for attaching the ribbon to a bc cake but in short you can use:

-a pin to secure it in the back (not my fav method)
-piping gel
-royal icing

The bc will discolor the ribbon. So you can:

-pre-grease the entire back of ribbon so you don't get uneven spots. But this will usually darken the color
-attach clear contact paper to the back of the ribbon
-iron wax paper to the back (always seemed way to labor intensive)

I would probably arrange the daisies in a ball of fondant that way you can see if there are area that need to be filled in. You could also do a dollop of bc too.
