I don't know where you live, but you might try your county fair. Another idea is to visit the I.C.E.S. webpage for contests that have a beginner's category. This information is for bringing an already decorated cake for competition. I think you also want to bake your cake onsite. I haven't a clue about that. I only have seen professionals bake onsite or the Phillsbury Bake Off. Maybe someone else on CC can help. Bump!

There is no Pillsbury Bake/Cook Off this year..it is every other year.
start at the county or state fair. They always have those.
I know what you mean. Contests brings out the creativity in us. It's a challenge.
