I am going to do some sugar cookies tongiht and have some left over mmf. I want to cover them in the mmf like I have seen others do. I don't know how to get it to stick to them though.

Anyone know how to do this?

I cut my mmf the same shape as the cookie and put ot on top right after I pulled the cookies out of the oven. It kind of melts the mmf and I think they are yummy! I then use royal icing or something else to detail!

I just started using MMF on cookies a couple of weeks ago and it is my new favorite thing!!! I LOVE it! (And I think they taste even better after a day or 2)

Anyway, I put the MMF on while the cookie was still hot - that way it melts right on to the cookie and you don't have to do anything to make it stick. Take your cookies out of the oven, flaten them down with a pancake spatula (so you have a level & smooth suface), and then put the MMF right on top.

Also, try to roll your MMF pretty thin. And I found that after using the cookie cutter to cut out your MMF pieces, pop them in the fridge. Then the MMF will harden a little and be much easier to pick up, handle, and place on your cookie.

Thanks,

Here is another questions. Probably so obvious it sounds stupid but I have never put a cookie on a stick. I want to. How do you do that? Do you bake it with the stick in it? I am wanting to do a fall leaf cookie basket for my mom.

Thanks

Yep, you can bake the cookie with the stick in. I've used the Wilton Lolipop sticks. After you cut out the dough, gently twist the stick back and forth until it goes at least 1/2-way up the cookie. You'll have to roll out your dough pretty thick. I liked the lolipop sticks better than the Wilton cookie sticks because thet aren't as thick and I think they're longer too. I've also heard of using the wooden popcicle sticks, but I haven't tried that.

Thanks for the tips about putting MMF on cookies right out of the oven. That sound like a much easier way to do it than to brush the cookies with a glaze and apply the MMF.
