I've seen alot of posts about Rich's Bettercreme and have never heard of it. Where can you buy it. Is it very sweet and heavy or is it light.

I saw some in our Sam's bakery department last week. We used it when I worked at the ice cream store, to ice our ice cream cakes with it. It was lighter than regular buttercream.

It tastes like Cool Whip. You can buy it at GFS, Sams Club (25 lb tub) in the bakery dept or quart size in the dairy (refrigerated) section or at most cake supply stores. It doesn't crust though, but the taste is delicious. I love it in parfaits or trifles.

Depend's on where you live; there are some retail sources, and tons of distributors, if you have access. And it is available at Sam's Club, in the bakery. hth

mckara,
I live in California and it is sold at Smart & Final stores. You can also go to www.richs.com and see a listing of distributers through out the US.

I'm not sure about adding flavor to Rich's Bettercreame, but you can add flavor to Pastry Pride (very similar to Rich's). Rich's does come in a chocolate flavor that is very good. I use it as a chocolate mousse filling and people love it! Plus you don't need to keep it in the frige.

I find both Rich's and Pastry Pride at Smart & Final or my cake deco shop. I've also seen Pastry Pride at Costco. Mine is not the pre-whipped kind - look in the freezer section & it's in a cardboard milk carton looking container.
