I just got my first orders! I was so shocked! icon_surprised.gif I brought a dozen filled cupcakes to work this w/e and got 4 orders. I wasn't even thinking of trying to get orders, they were practice cupcakes for my daughters brownie troop.

My problem is when I brought them to work it was on a 1/4 sheet pan. I can't very well deliver my cupcakes that way. What should I do? I'm afraid if I but them in a cake box they will slide around and bump each other. I have quite a bit of frosting on them-similar to the 1M tip. Any ideas?

By the way I'm such a wimp-I'm only charging $8/dozen. Luckily they aren't too time consuming. I did tell them if they want any additions it would be at .50 a cupcake. Thats fair isn't it?

Hey Elfie,
There's a lot of info in the forums on this topic, one of the more recent threads http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-46146-cupcake.html+dividers
You can also do a search for "cupcake transport" and a whole bunch more threads come up.
Have fun with your orders!

I use those plastic cupcake containers that grocery stores use if they arent tooo high/fancy - i bought them from a catering store that went out of business locally.

Another thing I do if the cupcakes are fancy is I bake them in 2 cupcake liners...then hotglue it to a cakeboard. WHen they arrive at their destination, I just remove them from the outer cake liner, and a cake liner is still on the cupcake. It works great.

Also, You usually can go to a grocery store any theyll sell you their plastic containers - they dont really have a set price so you can work with them. Ive utilized my local grocery stores several times when ive run out or need a certain size cake carrier etc.

You can buy them here http://www.countrykitchensa.com/catalog/product.aspx?T=1&productId=629283

Someone on another thread posted a tip about using styrofoam and toothpicks. Stick the toothpicks in the foam and then the cupcake on the toothpick. She used this for mini cupcakes but probably would work for reg. ones.
