I just got an airbrush and I was wondering can you use the wilton paste colors mixed with something. I was thinking I read clear vanilla somewhere, but wasnt sure. Thanks
Congratulations! I just got an airbrush, and I love it. My airbrush class instructor said to use the airbrush colors, but others on this board with more experience may have different opinions. We were told, however, that luster dust can be mixed with lemon extract (or vodka) and sprayed through the airbrush. I tried that yesterday and, OMG, I will never go back to painting on buttercream with a brush!
Do NOT use wilton colors. They are paste and gunky and will clog your airbrush. Now some people may use it sometimes and get away with it but just buy the airbrush color and you won't have to worry about it. : )
I have heard luster dust and acohol work ok though. I did see somewhere that someone was offering air brush coloring in gold and silver. Will have to try to remember where I saw that!
