Coloring Buttercream Icing Red

I'm new at cake decorating and trying to get buttercream icing red icon_confused.gif does anyone have tips for me.

Add a little orange with the red to get it really red...the longer it sits after ya color it, the more the red will develop.

Keep in mind that as time goes by the color will deepen. Try to make your color and let it sit for a couple of hours. You will see a big difference.

Americolor Super Red - best red color ever! I used it on the fire dept. CCCs in my gallery.

I use Tulip Red first then I use The Super. It takes less color and the Red turns out PERFECT for me.

I've made maroon a day in advance & let it sit overnight before using it. The color always looks much better the next day.
