I saw somewhere online one time a really beautiful idea of a diaper cake. Not an edible one, but a 3 tiered cake made out of diapers and ribbons. And now I cannot find this anywhere icon_cry.gif . Does anyone here know of what i am talking about, and could you post a pic if you have it? I'd like to do something like this for a good friend of mine who is having twins, a boy and girl, so i'd like to to make 2 of them.

Thank you so much.

I used these instructions when I made one for a friend a couple of months ago.

When I made my SIL's I discovered that the quickest and easiest way was to rubberband the diapers. We started off by tying each up with a ribbon, but it was taking way tooooooooo long.

Sorry I dont have any pictures to refer you to but i make beautiful diaper cakes. I dont roll each diaper, I put ehm next to each other in a circle and then twist from the center. Once they are spiraled enough you tie a ribbon around them. they look more like a cake that way. Hard to explain but I will look for a site that makes them this way!

I'm just curious why pictures are not allowed. Not that I want to post one, I'm really just curious. icon_biggrin.gif

Thank you for all the wonderful leads and how to's. These would make a great item to have in a craft fair like they have during the Holiday Season...hmm, maybe I'll have to do that icon_lol.gif

This may seem like a really stupid question, but where are the rules for the forums??? icon_redface.gif I'd like to read about why we cannot post the diaper cake pics, and I dont know where to go look.

Just don't use tape!! I had a friend make me one.... they used it for a game.... really fun..... but all the diapers were taped in this big "wheel" (think jelly roll) and when we pulled the tape off some of the diapers tore!

why not?

simple --

it's NOT real cake!

and this site is for REAL cake, cookies, cupcakes.

----

now of course (as some did do) if you made a REAL cake that was decorated to look like a stack of diapers, or a bag of diapers or a diaper cake, then it would be OK

i used to make these and sell them... really more of a pita than anything! you don't get nearly as much $ as you should either... i still have about 3 boxes of supplies (bibs, socks, diapers rolled up, ribbons, toys, lotions, etc.)... too bad i couldn't send them to you if you really wanted to do this!

Well, I thought that was the simplest reason, but I wasn't sure if there was another reason and I wasn't aware of it.

Thanks, Doug. icon_smile.gif
