A couple of ideas:

1. Nuke the licorice for a few seconds (not long) to soften it up & make it more pliable.

2. Use a little piping gel to make the lollipop sticks sticky.

3. Attach licorice to sticks with RI.

String licorice can have a mind of it's own - good luck!

Thats soo funny. I am making a wrestling cake tomorrow and was going to use string licorice for the ropes as well. haha. But i was going to get Straws and cut a tiny hole, then insert the licorice and then push it up the straw & tie a knot, then pull the licorice back so that its stuck in there. I dunno, thats the only idea i really had...so if you figure something out please let me know and maybe post a photo or 2 tonight so you can be a bit of inspiration for me!! Good luck!!! usaribbon.gif

I used a big blob of royal icing, held it for at least a minute then scrunched cling film up to help keep it in place until the royal icing dried, you may need to hold for two minutes till is at least starts to set, but even though you might get some small movement once you've got the cling film to act as something for it kinda lean on it should stay until dry.
