Can anyone recommend a good pedometer that:

1. works well with all types of clothing materials
2. reasonably accurate
3. reasonably priced

I am getting serious about walking for excercise and would like a pedometer. I am on my third one this week. Here is the breakdown of what has happened:

Pedometer #1 - Go Walking model - Wal-Mart: worked pretty well with jeans. Did NOT work at all with pants I like to wear to work (polyester-I know.....but it's hard to find any that fits well in a 16P)

Pedometer #2 - Go Walking model - Wal-Mart - different model than above - the cheapest one: did not work at all no matter what I wore

Pedometer #3 - ? brand - Wal-Greens: cannot adjust stride, will not work with work pants. Works with cotton pants but is not accurate. Depending on where I place it, it counts 10-20 more steps than I've taken.

Sorry this is so long and detailed. Thanks for your help!

I bought the Yamax SW 200 a few years ago and I love it. This one doesn't measure stride but just steps. There are other models that do more.
Here is there website:
