For one wedding I was so proud that I had completed the cake with 2 hours to spare and delivery was only 10 minutes away. As the saying goes, "pride goeth before a fall".
When I got to the reception, I was asked about the groom's cake. I had completely forgotten about it! I apologized and told them to give me two hours and I would have it. I zoomed home, baked, cooled, cut and covered the board, decorated, and then delivered the cake in two hours. The guests were just coming in, so they didn't realize how badly I had blown it. God watches over idiots. 
I now triple check my orders for any detail and I changed my order form to let me know everything for more than one cake.
Wow! Impressive! I would've gone out and bought a cake and decorated it. I don't think I could've gotten it done in two hours.

I have forgotten a cake before and I thought the customer would be completely mad but she was like, "That's ok, can you make it for tomorrow?" I think i would have blown my top!
That happened to me one time...but it was a birthday cake. They called wanting to know when they could pick up. Oops!! Party was in two hours. It was a bowling cake. I made, cooled, and decorated and delivered right before they needed it. That is too much pressure... but my real horror is forgetting a wedding!! I can really feel for you!! Great save.
