As many of you may know from my last post, I was asked if i would make a brides main flowers to match her sugarpaste flowers that i made for her cake. Well here is a pic of them together. My only problem is that this is the closest gold colour match that I can get. My DH says that she is not giong to be close to the cake all the time so it won't be an issue, but I'm not totally convinced.......What do you think?????? P.S I have never done floristry before. The bride hasn't seen them yet either!!!

p.s didn't know which forum to put this in so i tried a few ![]()
i should have mentioned, the flash is on for the pic on the left, but not the right. it does make it look brighter! I have ordered filler flowers but they haven't turned up yet.
Lynsey are you in Wales UK or Wales somewhere else? Just wondering how you've finished your version of the bouquet. I'm in the UK and have used those lustre dust aerosol sprays and wonder if maybe one of those might perhaps zip up the colour/dazzle. Other than that I love your bouquet - you've captured the shape and styling of the one you have to match well.
i am from wales, uk and the only luster dust my local shop sells is bronze and when i did the flowers i thought it might be too dark. maybe it would work i don't know. i would say 'i need a colour swatch', but the bride decided the colour theme when she saw my flower spray
PME sells a spray luster dust in bronze, gold, silver, and pearl. Emma is in the UK also and she swears by them on her cakes. She was the member spotlighted before boween. Why dont you PM her and ask her where she buys them from? I know here in the states we can get it from Global Sugar Art but Im sure there is a place online closer to you that you can get it from. I think it will create the effect your looking for. Also, have you tried using a gold luster dust?
i think the flowers look lovely, you can get the PME coloured spray from ebay in the gold colour or in copper, silver, pearl, i used the pearl one on some flowers i made and for the drape on a 60th wedding anniversary cake,(in my pic's) have a look and see how shiney and effective it is, it is about £5.99 but worth every penny, HTH

thanks for all you comments, but I don't really want to change the sugapaste bouquet. the bride has seen that and she fell in love with it. its the other flowers i need to change.
I highly recommend A piece of Cake Thame website for buying cake supplies in the UK:

They sells the PME lustre dust sprays and pretty much everything else you could think of!
Their postage is very resonable too!

thanks for the advice, but its just the silk flowers i want to change. the bride likes the sugar flowers
