I use Americolor gel and have no problem getting red, but not sure where you can buy it online (maybe here?). Usually have to let it sit for a few hours to darken up. Make it early! icon_smile.gif

Cake Central sells Americolor thumbs_up.gif

Michelle is right, make it early. I normally make it 24 hours before I need it. It's really amazing how deeper it gets while you let it sit. Some people start with hot pink first then add the red. HTH.

I did an elmo and used the Wilton Red Red....it took about 1 1/2 jars. I used a jar, let it sit for a day, then kept adding until I got the deep red. Heres the pic of Elmo....his color turned out just fine. In the pic it does look a little brighter than it actually was. I tend to foget to adjust the color.

Add a little black to red and it will deepen.
