I see so many cakes here with really nice coverings on their boards what do you use ? Im tired of plain ole foil or parchment paper or freezer paper so what do I look for?

I recently bought some scrapbook paper, the kind with all the designs on it and then covered it with clear contact paper. It has opened up so many more design patterns and is reasonably inexpensive.

I went to the dollar store believe it or not, and got some shiney wrapping paper. Most of the time it works great. If I have a really expensive or detailed cake, I cover it with contact paper. I really like the scrapbook paper idea too!

Ok girls and guys,
What you do is go to a floral (ie...florist supply) supply wholesaler shop and buy florist foil and cover your boards in that or you can go to decocake.com and purchase it there.

I use scrapbooking paper to cover my cake boards also. For the cake board itself I usually buy 12x12 pieces of canvas board used for painting (not stretched canvas). It's really sturdy and the scrapbooking paper is also 12x12 so the size is perfect. Just cover it with clear contact paper and you're good to go. If I need bigger boards I just make sure I pick a paper that has a pattern that repeats so you can line two pieces up and they'll match. HTH.
