THANK YOU to everyone here on CakeCentral! I made a 3-D pumpkin patch cake for a halloween party today. I posted pics of it. If it wasn't for all of the tips, recipes and hints I found here in the last couple of months - I would have never been able to do this. I got so many compliments on my cake. Some people even "squeezed" one of the small pumpkins to see if it was real!

So thank you again! This site is wonderful - thanks to the amazing people here who are so willing to share their knowledge and experience!

Steph

I just looked at your pic in the gallery, way to go! You did a great job and should be very pleased with yourself.

I too dont think I would have made any of the cakes in my gallery without this site. It (the site) and the people just rock!

Look forward to seeing your next creation!

The pumpkins are so cute--and I love the Mike cake!!! Mind if I borrow that idea for an accident prone nephew? He'll love it!

I agree that if it weren't for the support and advice of the CC family, there are a lot of things I wouldn't have attempted. Not to mention all the great recipes--cake balls!--and other advice and ideas. This is truly a wonderful group of friends to be a part of and I am so glad I found all of you!

Elvisb, thank you so much. I don't mind you borrowing the Mike cake idea at all - it went over really well here. Mike loved it!

I enjoyed doing the pumpkin patch cake soooo much - the things I learned here took away so much stress and made it more enjoyable. And I was able to get it to look the way I wanted to!!

our cake is adorable. And I agree about CC! Tons of answers and everyone is very supportive. Had I not come here, I would not be so addicted to decorating and I definitely owuld never have tried fondant(it always scared me and looked too complicated.) I now love mmf, though I have used it only on cookies so everyone beware when I try it on a cake soon.

It's funny b/c now when I think about going to the cake dec place, I get a rush!!!!!

Can't wait to see more of your work!

Thank you so much!

I'm already thinking about what I want to try next - and I have alot of left over brown mmf from the stems of the pumpkins and some bc icing - both green and white. I'm thinking I might try to make a flower pot cake for practice.... just see what I can do. I haven't done flowers in years... so it will be interesting!

By the way - I just talked to Mike. He had is skating accident on August 12th. He just started therapy and that will last at least 10 weeks. I told him I can go to the craft store and get him a 'How to Crochet' kit! He is considering it! haha... poor guy!

Hmmmm... I thought we could edit our messages. But now I don't see how. So I'll just fix it here... He had his skating accident on August 12th.
