I'm a little puzzled by a comment I received on a photo I uploaded the other day. The picture in question is listed below and the first comment
about it was a series of this emoticon icon_cry.gif . I guess I should just try to PM the person that left the comment, but wondered what you guys thought.... I'm
just extremely puzzled and enough of a newbie to not quite get it! Thanks for any input you might have.

Maybe she has a loved one in Iraq and it just brought on sad emotions.

PM the person if you want, but doesn't look like she is a reg member and you may not get an answer. Take it with a grain of salt and focus on the good comments that do not need explanation. It is a very creative cake, you did a good job on it. The colors are very good and you did an outstanding job on the treads.

I would pm here. But if you do not get a response I wouldn't worry about it. Your cake is great! You did a really good job on it. You will also notice that the one who left the message has never uploaded a picture or made any posts so you may not get an answer from her.

hmmm that is a bit enigmatic. Like was suggested before maybe they have a loved one in the war, maybe they lost a loved one, maybe they are anti war..I dunno I'd shoot her a quick pm and see if you can get some thoughts on it.
BTW the cake came out awesome!! thumbs_up.gif

I think it could quite possibly be that she does have a loved one over seas. I saw it and my first reaction was this... icon_mad.gif then this icon_cry.gif . It has nothing to do with your cake, which is quite cool by the way, but with the military. My DH was overseas and was injured, pretty badly. If the bullet that hit him had been 1/2 an inch in any direction off, he wouldnt be here now. I cant even listen to Toby Keiths song American Soldier because I get the same way.

I think you should pm the person directly. Do you know how to do that?

I can't even guess as to what they were trying to communicate but I think if we all start doing that it might end up embarassing the person.

As for the cake I think it is really cool and shows that you have a lot of skill but unfortunately for me, and perhaps the person that commented, the cake makes me think of the war.

I think they were probally moved by it I guess. I wouldn't worry about it though, it is a very cool cake. I personally, would have left a comment along with the emotion icon.

OK...I'll take the fall because as a Newbie, I have to say when I initially looked at that emoticon, I thought it laughing, like a big smile!! I know it's crazy and when I look again, it's clearly sad but at first it looked like the character is throwing his head back in a big 'ol laugh...

Hi , I had something similar happened to me but it had this expression ( icon_evil.gif) I was a little shocked. What happened was this memeber's little one was playing on the computer and she didn't notice. It was just a mistake. icon_biggrin.gif

My initial thought too was that the one who commented was either anti-war or had someone who was there.... I'll PM them and see. Thanks so much for everyone's input!!

I had a icon_sad.gif comment on one of my cakes. It was one of the first ones I ever did so it has many many flaws. I was a tad shocked when that was the comment someone left. I immediately wanted to pout and remove the picture but I thought the picture shows how far I've come and if they can't be bothered to leave some constructive criticism, then I won't pay any attention to it.

The user has never made any posts so I would discount their 'comment.'

Could be there was a little kid playing around her computer and when they tried clicking to see the tank better, the kid was clicking on the emoticon? Just guessing - and thinking about how my 5 year old waits until I am stuck on the phone or with my head in the oven to go do things he knows he isn't supposed to touch...

It is a cool cake and my kids would certainly be drawn to the screen to see it better.

That is an odd comment. And what is even more odd is that there are 2??? strange, very strange. I can't immagin a child holding the mouse that steady and clicking on the one icon. detective.gif

As a mother of three little ones, I wouldn't be surprised to find out it was a child playing on the computer! You'd be amazed what kids can do! Jodie
