Ok so I have to do a pocket book cake with a Jimmy Choo shoe in front of it. I have never done a purse cake before so I'd like to do a pratice one. Ok so I am usually consdered pretty savy when it comes to the Haute Couture designers but I can honestly say I am stumped on this one.
Who does this bag?
...and why do I feel a slap on the forehead and a "Oh DUH" comming on? icon_lol.gif

I need a better pic should anyone come across one.
TIA you all are the BEST! thumbs_up.gif

Ok so I checked out Dooney and Burke and did not find the double B monogram, so I thought perhaps Burberry..no luck there. I am starting to think that it might be a knockoff. I think I might just have to use a D & B pic and fudge the double B monogram.

I think it's a faux dooney and burke. I can't imagine another company making their bag using the same style of monogram with a BB instead of a DB. It's probably from China town icon_wink.gif

yep I think so too. So now the biiiggggg question is. This cake is for a 15 yr old. She choose the Jimmy Choo did she not realize that this bag is a faux? Should I go ahead and do it BB or do it right and DB it. I would hate her friends to be snikering at her beacuse she did not realize that she chose a faux bag.

can you ask her? That'd be the best bet but if you can't I'd do the DB

I would ask her what the BB is for. I too think it's a knock off, but you never know. Maybe it's something new.

ok so I can't call her... someone forgot to take her number icon_rolleyes.gif
I think I am going to go ahead and make it a Dooney & Burke and hope it's not a problem. I spent the better part of this afternoon searching the internet to try to find a BB monogramed bag to no avail. I checked every designer I could think of and few that ended up being shampoo manufacturers icon_lol.gif (Bumble & Bumble).
Keep your fingers crossed I don't get schooled on fashion by a 15 year old...though I am guessing it wouldn't be the first time icon_rolleyes.gif

Check their home page [ http://mptdesigns.net/ ] from the graphic of your purse and it says
"REPLICA DESIGNER PURSES" "INSPIRED BY D&B"
Looks like they changed it to get around copy infringement! I would imagine the original one has the D&B!
