the fudge layer cake recipe on here is good. i baked it just now. i have not cut it yet though. it is still cooling but it baked up nice. i am going to tort it and put nutella inbetween the layers, frost it with buttercream and top that with ganache. here goes. will post the results later.

ok here is an update. the cake is amazing. it is moist and fluffy and soft and not sweet. i put the nutella in the buttercream but didnt like how it turned out plus i couldnt taste the nutella how i wanted to. not to mention i used almost the full jar. the ganache was nice too.

what i plan on doing tomorrow is making the cake again. then when i tort it i will add straight nutella no additions. then i will see if i can frost is with nutella and then cover that with the ganache and add some nutella to that.

can you tell i want a nutella cake. icon_smile.gif i am going to go and rate that cake recipe now too. AMAZING.

ok...here is the yet another update. ok..the cake is still amazing. i still cant taste the nutella but the cake is good. the first one with the nutella added to the butter cream is nicer than the nutella spread on top of the white butter cream. i think that the chocolate is over powering the nutella.

my question is....does loranne oils have a hazelnut flavoured oil?? and do you think that it will work in the cake?

Isn't there a hazelnut syrup for coffees? You may try something like that in a chocolate buttercream.

I have seen hazelnut flavoured powdered and liquid creamers at the grocery stores. That might be a good option for you icon_smile.gif

The WBH has a recipe and it's really good. It's basically whipped cream with Nutella folded in. I'm sure you could find it if you searched the website, or PM me and I'll give it to you (I'm at work now so I don't have the book!)
