I never have . . . but I did just try adding a dollop of crisco to the mmf and it was MUCH easier to work with.

I don't exactly sift for most of my frosting. I put the amount of sugar I need in a bowl then use my chef wisk and wisk it. It works really well and in 1/2 the time. When I make my FBCT frosting I do sift however, not sure why, just following the receipe

I always sift the powdered sugar for my BC...but if someone told me I really didn't have to and to just use my whisk I probably would do that..just haven't heard anybody say that yet lol

I never used to sift anything. But all of a sudden I was getting a lot of lumps, so i started to!

I never used to until I made Chocolate MMF and ended up with small white lumps here and there. One ended up on the edge of the chocolate bow on the dozen choc. roses cake. You can see it in the detail. I tried to post the attachment, but failed. By the way the Chocolate MMF tasts like Tootsie Rolls did when I was a kid about 50 years ago. They aren't that good now.

I just started using the screen metal strainer to sift with I love it . I read about it on some other posts here on CC. It's a hand saver! You just put it over a large bowl and tap the strainer with your hand on the side .Very fast also. icon_biggrin.gif

I do sift when I make MMf. Just in case.
