I am wondering if anyone here has attended the Wilson Master Course? It is the 2 week course offered in Chicago. I live overseas so I am not able to do the regular Wilton classes as all the classes I have seen run one lesson per week for several weeks running. So I am wondering if I should just bite the bullet and sign up for an intensive course which would teach me lots in a relatively short space of time.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Will you let me know what you think of the course? I am not likely to be able to go for a while yet, so you will have done your course by then. I would love to do it, but kind of need to know if it is going to be worth my while as it is going to cost a bomb when I factor in flights and accommodation for that amount of time. Not to mention having to be away from my kids for two whole weeks

Yes, you can take it alone - I am.
The other classes can also be taken solo, or they can suppliment the master course while your in chicago if you want.
I am registered for the master course beginning November 6th! I'm so excited. Of course, I'm taking my laptop, so I can keep up with CC and I"ll post from Chicago. I believe that I'll come away from the course with not only lots of knowlege, but also a sense of confidence that will move me forward with my business. There's nothing like being able to say that you are a certified master decorator!

Can you take the master course without taking the Wilton 1,2 and 3 courses? or is the Master course the next step after taking those 3 courses
The Mater Course covers everything and then some that is in the regular classes (1,2 &3). You don't need any previous decorating experience. One day, I would like to take one of the advanced techniques classes. Since I am a WMI, I get 40% off any class at the Wilton school! Some incentive for anyone thinking about becoming one!!!

BakingGirl - go for the Wilton course. It really is the gold standard in cake decorating. You can really do anything after that course.

I also live overseas and I took the Master Course about a year and a half ago. There were actually about 10 of us from overseas in that class-people from Japan, the Phillipines, South America, Europe, the Middle East.
You don't need any other classes before this one. It is very comprehensive and very hands-on. I also took the Fondant and Gumpaste classes that were running during those two weeks. I highly, highly recommend the Master Course if you can do it. Between that and the hints I've picked up here on this website I feel confident doing about any kind of decorating (but there's always more to learn!).

Yes, the only place you can take the class is in Chicago as that is where their headquarters is located and that is where the school is.
