I HAVE AMERICOLORS AND JUST TRIED THE BROWN ON MY FONDANT BUT MY FONDANT IS NOT BROWN IT IS TERRA COTTA. HOW DO I GET IT TO A DARK BROWN. SHOULD I CONTINUE TO PUT MORE COLORING INTO IT?.
Maybe try kneading some cocoa powder into it?

What color brown did you use? I know there's one, that's really crappy! I think it's warm brown... it comes out w/ a definate red tint to it. Try adding some green (go opposite on the color wheel), just a little at a time. Try the "chocolate brown" color by Americolor, it's the most true brown I've found.

i agree the chocolate brown works very well, otherwise you have to use a lot of brown to get a deep brown color.
Hello
I know this is going to sound silly.. but for dark brown, I simply use chocolate fondant or chocolate clay.
ciao
When I saw this post I had to answer because I was just searching on this topic this morning when I was trying to do the exact same thing. I made MMF and added Wilton icing color brown because I didn't have any americolor in that color. When that wasn't brown enough I decided to add about 1/4 cup Special Dark Dutch Processed Hershey's Cocoa, and WOW it turned REALLY DARK fast. I didn't really want to do a chocolate fondant, but the color is just so beautiful I couldn't help myself. ![]()
