How Can You Tell What Your Edible Image Was Printed On?

I got a couple edible images, but don't know if they are rice paper or the flatened icing kind. I'll need to peel them of the backing that they are on, but I have no idea if the rice paper comes with a backing or not also. This is my first time using them.
If it's the icing kind, do I just apply it to my mmf with piping gel?
Sounds like you have the icing sheets, they peel away from the backing!
I work mainly in buttercream, so I have not used an edible image on MMF or Fondant. But, I have heard that you can use piping gel to apply to these surfaces, so it sounds like you're on the right track!
Just as an FYI kind of thing, I was told by the lady at the cake supply store where I got an edible image that if you live where there is little or not humidity (like here in Colorado), there is little or no need to put the image in the freezer. It may even crack if you do. So, just want you to be aware. I'm sure it does help when there is humidity involved. Here it is too dry. I'm not sure on how to tell what type of paper the image was printed on, though. Sorry
