I need to make an off centered stacked cake that look like poker chips, but I am uncertain of what to do to off center the cakes and keep it from falling apart. Also do you frost the edge that overhangs?

There is a cake similar in the Las Vegas/Casino section of the gallary, but I don't need one that tall. I only have to go three "chips" high.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I am assuming each tier (chip) will be a single layer. Each one should be on it's own cake board with a thick (maybe foam core) board as a base. Since they don't have to be hanging off too much (maybe only an inch or so would give the effect) you should be able to use the typical stacking method placing your dowels to support the tiers as much as possible. Then I would put one long dowel through all three and into the foam core base. The underside won't show that much and I wouldn't worry about covering it. Frosting the board would only make it unsturdy. Hope this helps. Make sure you post a picture.
