i am making a wilton pan castle cake , and i screwed up...i added too much crisco to my icing...and now it wont crust
so i cant get the sides smooth...do yall think a basketweave will look ok on the sides?
thanks...i just cant believe taht i messed up my icing....grrr i just hope it holds up ok
i thought about doing flowers but...it was so late and i was so fustrated...after not only messing up my icing but them i stuck my bag into the side of the cake when i turned it and ruined a whole side of basketweave....grr...plus i still had a tractor cake to finish after the castle was done...was a really bad night...i think i got in the bed at like 4:30 and had to be up at 8
( yea i over slept too and didnt get up until 8:30 )
ok, well i finished this cake...and I was not very happy with it...it gave me a really big headache last night...too many things went wrong..I did this one along with a tractor cake as a donation to the school that my sister teaches at for their fall festival...well everyone raved about them ( not many people in my area do cakes like this ) have a couple of potential customers.
but i was just wondering what yall thought about the cake and the basketweave that i put on the side?
ps wgoat..thanks for your help last night!!!
I think it looks great.. the basketweave kinda looks like it is supposed to be the bricks of the castle.. good job! No one would be able to tell that you hadn't planned it that way.
