Ok..seriously....am I The Only One???? (Kids In School)

Both my son & daughter missed the cut-off by 3 & 5 days....and we live in a 'no exceptions' district so as much as I was railing at the Gods, they had to start the following year.
My 4 started school 2 weeks ago -whooo hooo! Now my problem is I am alone for 6-7 hrs each day and I wander around in circles. So much to do; projects, cleaning, laundry, painting, repairs and I am so overwhelmed that I end up doing nothing! Then I feel like a slug at the end of the day.
Lord I wish there was a switch I could flick to turn me into one of those organized, tidy, responsible SAHM's who have supper at 5:30 with fresh bread & dessert, constantly tidy closets and toilet bowls that sparkle.

Wow...am I the only one whose kids haven't started school yet? My chiclets don't start until September 11! DS is 9.5, going into 4th; DD is 7 going into 2nd. Then they immediately have 2 days off for the Jewish holidays. I like when they go back to school because then I don't feel QUITE so guilty about working and not being with them all day, everyday.
I was thrilled when school started this year! I love my kids, but teh bickering all summer drove me nuts! I'm going to really enjoy spending time with just my 2½ year old!

Thank you! I am exactly the same way. (Yet, here I sit, reading CC again!)
twinsline7,
so when does Thing 1 & Thing 2 start school? Next year maybe?
Nope, they'll be 3 Tuesday.....and if I can't get them in because of the Sept 1st rule...I will have 3 more years! ![]()

My daughter missed the cutoff too. But in VA, if the kids passes their tests and you are willing to pay the tuition ($2,500) they can go. My mom and ILs each paid a third and we paid teh remaining, which is what another year of preschool would've cost, so we did it. She was ready. I asked her preschool teachers one day if they thought she was ready becasue I was getting a bit worried about her being 6 months younger than my son when he started. They said, "Oh yeah, she could teach it!" And so far so good!
And I love FlyLady. I don't do it like I should adn I don't know why I can't get into a good routine, but the house is in good shape. I keep up with teh laundry and my sink is shiny!! It works if you work it. Plus I love her purple pens and I have 2 t-shirts!
4 more days here and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine boys are going into 7th & 10th and they are driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!
If they are not fighting like crazy they are acting like total dingbats.
I work at school and when I see all of the Kindergarten parenting crying (as I am doing my Happy Dance) I just think give them about 5 years and they will not be crying when school starts.
School doesn't start here 'til 9/10!! I've decided to switch to working part-time and I can't wait! My son is 10 and for the first time in his life, I'll be home at 3:00 when he gets home from school!! ![]()
