My first grandson was born yesterday morning. It is so exciting! icon_biggrin.gif He weighs 9lbs 3 oz. We couldn't believe how big he was considering my daugter in law was so small. Everyone is doing fine. I can just vision his birthday cakes already..LOL.. Ijust wanted to share my news. icon_lol.gif

Congratulations! I have six and they are wonderful (well, most of the time). icon_lol.gif All are cake and icing tasters. I don't make many of their birthday cakes as my daughter does cakes and she makes for her four. My youngest is almost three and when he hears the mixer, he is there, immediately!

Enjoy them........they grow up fast.

Congratulations!!!
I can tell you what my dad said when I brought my daughter home from the hospital (we lived with them)...this comes from a man with six kids. He said to my mom, "I don't ever remember loving our own kids this much!" He then defended himself to say that it's a different kind of love. You don't have the responsibilities of raising them, punishing them, etc. He is wondeful to my kids as he is their only male role model! And yes, she is spoiled rotten at 9 years!
Like they say, if you knew grandkids were this much fun you would've skipped over the kids and went straight to having grandkids! icon_lol.gif

So nice to hear how excited you are about a grand baby... that baby/child will be loved, I can just tell it! And, I LOVE big babies, it's all I know! Mine were 10 lbs 9 ounces and just shy of 12 lbs at 11 lbs 14 ounces - both two weeks early and 22 inches long and as healthy as can be!
