Can anyone tell me if I can mix a lemon pudding with a vanilla or yellow cake mix and achieve a good lemon flavor?

I am trying to save a trip to a store..Thanks in advance,Pearl

I would also use a lemon extract to achieve more of a lemon flavor. has worked for me. I used a yellow mix. hope this helps. icon_biggrin.gif

I have never done it but I think so. I have seen a recipe for Pistachio cake that has you use the pudding to get the flavour. HTH

Looked in my Cake Doctor cookbook and the lemon cake in there called for a yellow cake mix and lemon gelatin. It is baked in a bundt pan but don't know why it wouldn't work in regular pans. I can send you the recipe if you are interested.

Lemon zest would be a great addition if you have a lemon.

So would adding a bit of lemon juice for a small part of your liquids!

i have added fresh lemon juice and zest, and it makes for great flavor. it also looks more natural, instead of the bright yellow boxed lemon cakes.

Yep I always replace some of the water or milk with lemon juice as well as lemon zest mmmmm delicious lol it's my mom's favourite.
