I bought 2 -Colbolt Blue and Caviar, I had to order them, but got a phone call the very next day saying they were in. I know I'm putting myself out on a limb here, but has anyone wondered if it wasn't really an error on Lowes part, but a clever way for KA to clear out old inventory before introuducing a new color line for the 2008 Artisan series? Perhaps it was an agreement between KA & Lowes Upper Management to intentionaly price it @ $150 without notifying the stores.
Personaly, I just can't see Lowes, or any of the companies that honored price matches losing that kind of money when they had other options as icantcook stated. A sign on the door indicating it was a typo and not being obliged to honor pricing would have sufficed; it happens all the time.
On another note, has anyone recieved the $30.00 rebate offered? I mailed mine in today even though the submission form stated purchases at Lowes and BB&B do not qualify-kind of revealing in itself. Call me crazy, but it all just makes me wonder.
I special ordered 2 on the last day. 1 brushed nickel and 1 metallic chrome. I just got the call this morning that they were in. I went to pick them up and after 30 minutes in the storeroom, the salesperson came out with a metallic chrome and dark gray model that looked like a machine gun. I nicely informed her that one was not correct. She looked very confused and her response was "It has to be yours, the sticker has your name on it!" I asked her to see if the brushed nickel was on backorder. Long story short, the person who originally placed my order entered the wrong number and ordered the machine gun gray. Luckily, I was able to exchange it for a metallic chrome off the shelf for the same price. Not exactly what I wanted, but both are sitting in my kitchen as we speak.
For those of you holding out for the metallic series, be strong.
