help me please. i might have bit off a little more then i can chew! i decided to do a (dummy)cake in fondant. i made the MMF and had no problem rolling it out (yes it is a work out to do it but it rolled nicely with out tearing or sticking) however when i put it on the cake it tears along the sides when i try to make it smooth. also my sides arent sticking to the cake well.

You're probably rolling it too thin. Also, did you round off the top edge of your dummy? You can do that by rolling a rolling pin around the edge or - my favorite method - take your dummy and a small piece of hard, sparkly styrofoam (the kind you get at the craft store) outside and use the hard styrofoam to 'file down' the sharp top edge. It's messy, but works GREAT!

Did you slightly dampen the sides of your dummy? If your fondant isn't sticking to water, mix a little piping gel into your water and brush it sparingly onto the sides of your dummy.
