Help With Dummy Cake

this is my first time trying to make one
i went to buy styrofoam but found only 9by 1 do you think i can buy 3 and stack them together to get a 9 by 3 or i can find a 9 by 3 circles.

I get styrofoam dummies from Dallas Foam: http://www.dallas-foam.com/store/cakedummies.html

It is the white kind, not the green kind that sheds for floral arrangements. When I get them, they are already the size I need and 4" tall.

You can probably glue 3-4 pieces of the kind you bought.
