I may have the opportunity to provide baked goods for the training department at my office. Being I have to submit some sort of bill for payment, if I put my name then "private baker" on the top, instead of just my name, that would not be considered a business, would it? I just like to give my friends some sort of receipt when they order from me, and instead of putting a fake business name on, thought the title of private baker would indicate I am not a business, just a personal baker. What do you think?

MHO - if you charge, and expect them to pay, you are a business...
If they choose to donate some money for your 'charitable' effort.. then you are not a business...
First, sadly, I must agree. Money for goods=business.
Second, your title makes me want to sing (in a sassy Tina Turner voice)...
I'm your private baker, a baker for money, bake what you want me to do
I have to agree with the posts before me. money-goods=business
Sorry I know that is not what you wantd to hear.
No gang, you are right, any exchange of monies and goods is business. Was just trying to find something that sounded a little less business like. I think all I will put on any sort of receipt is just my name.

funny, I thought of that song too! LOL!!!

LMAO
I thought the exact same thing when I saw the heading. lololol
"I' m your private baker"

Oh, as for the name, as long as you are getting money for a product/service you are in business for yourself. So, I would get a name that suits you best and add it to your heading, than you have a business name. Hope that helps.
If you are giving them a receipt you are a business... and therefore should operate as a business... ie: taxes and licensing
