Someone came into my shop today wanting me to make something similar to The Cheesecake Factory's Italian Cream Cake for their deli. I have NEVER tasted or seen this cake. Does anyone out there know anything about this cake???? I need to know what it looks like and what it tastes like. She has been buying it frozen from Sam's Club, but they aren't getting any more so she wants me to make them. HELP!

I've made them before, and they are YUMMY. I am at work, so I don't have my recipes here. I googled "Italian Cream Cake"+recipe and found it on this site: http://southernfood.about.com/od/coconutcakes/r/bln329.htm

I recently made Chcoolate Italian Cream Cake...

they are very close to sponge cake. But there is coconut and pecans in it.

When I made mine, i played it safe. After I torted it I sprayed
Torani Hazelnut syrup just be sure it is moist.. Typically sponge cakes are
dry. Everyone loved it at work. It does not rise hign ..there is no baking powder in it, just soda
. that was my first attempt and I am determined to make it again icon_smile.gif

I guess I didn't explain myself well enough....sorry. She doesn't want a regular Italian Cream Cake. She wants the specific one the Cheesecake Factory makes. Has anyone ever had this at the Cheesecake factory and can you describe it to me?? icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif I can not find anything about it except the name...no pic...no recipe...not even a description! icon_cry.gif
