Ok, This Is My Attempt At The Sandcastle Turret (Spelling?)

After looking through the site and trying to use different tips on building the turrets or towers as I call them, this is what I came up with. I tried the rice crispy treat trick and pushed it into a greased large cake tube (for the round shape). Then I used another piece and formed it to a square and cut out little cubes for the top thingys. I put it in the fridge to chill up and firm up then iced it with a non-crusting buttercream. I had to run next door to the gas station to see what kind of cookies they had since I had none and all they had was Famous Amos peanut butter cookies. That was a great plus because the peanuts in the cookies when ground give off the oil which in effect makes it even more like wet sand and it cakes together nicely so you can form around the pieces and carve away like wet sand. Just like at the beach ![]()
P.S. Philly Creamcheese now makes a ready to eat cheese cake filling which I added to my buttercream and OMG!!!! It was soooo good.
Anyway...hope this helps anyone looking to do this type project. I will post the cake next month when I do it for the wedding.
