Well here it is. The only thing is that all the dangling beads have not been attached as the Wedding Planner is coming tomorrow to collect the stand and the Cakes and she is going to set it up. It was a very stressful job but now it's over I feel really good. If I had to do another I would certainly know the quickest way to do it.
I made 65 dariole mudcake cupcakes and without much hassle they came out of the cups. I coated them with raspberry jam before I covered them in fondant. It took ages to cover the whole lot but had it down to a production line by the time I was finished. I made Poured Fondant and drizzled it down and there was an art to that also. I placed hearts, 3 different styles on the top of each one. The top cake is an 8" mudcake with 6 lilies on the top. I could cover this cake just about in the time it took me to cover one cupcake. The colour is mint green but it doesn't really show that in the photo.
I wanted those who were so helpful with their advice and requested a photo when I first started this topic to see the final result. Thanks to you all. I got there!
What a cool idea. Good job. don't know what the heck dariole is so gotta go and find out............ ![]()
I bought those same sauce cups at Wal-Mart - 4 for 64 cents. I have used them for mini cakes with great success. Just make sure that you get the pan grease into the crease at the bottom of the cup. I had a couple of them stick on me.

I had no idea what these pans were when I first read the post, but you did a heck of a better job than that first photo!! All the sweat and tears turned into a beautiful work of art! You should be very proud with how it turned out! I also think you inspired others to get those cups and give it a try. Well done!!!
Excellent job!! You are getting a standing o from me!
LisaMae, Dariole is a type of baking vessel (also called a baba mold for a mini cake called "baba au rhum") that turns the cupcakes out that sort of cone shape with the point cut off. I went to the website (www.matferbourgeatusa.com) and requested a catalog. For anyone who eats, breathes, dreams and lives bakewear and baking (like me), you won't be disappointed. Just remember to have your bank account fortified!!! LOL
The molds can be found on the bottom of page 9 in the 2006 catalog. I've already been through mine several times with a highlighter marker -- hint, hint, hint, family! -- to give "the fam" lots of ideas for what they can buy me for Christmas, birthdays, "You're a great Mom Day", etc., etc., etc. My catalog is already pretty dog-eared!!!
Again, terrific job, Briarview. I'm really proud of you!
Thanks everyone for your great comments. You had all better stop now so my head can come back to size.lol.
The Wedding Planner called to pick the cake up this afternoon and was so impressed she has asked me would I do her one for her wedding in January. I already had her booking and I just knew what she was going to say as she started to ask so I quickly said no, but then yes as I know how to go about it now and there will be only 50 guests. Thanks CC for all your help and praise.
