Does it matter what sticks you use to support your cookie bouquets?

I use the lollipop sticks-others I know have used bamboo skewers, popsicle sticks, etc..

I use bamboo skewers for a couple reasons. They're cheap and long. You can cut them to a desired height, so it's easy to stagger your design.

Thanks for your suggestions! I have sucker sticks, but I may pick up some bamboo skewers tonight. I am wanting to make a cookie bouquet for a birthday in the office tomorrow!
