I am about to buy a system, and I have done some research the last few days. If you go to Kopykake.com, you can find information on the systems. The only printers they have inks for are Canon and Epson. I spoke to a rep for Kopykake yesterday, and he suggested the Epson systems becuase Canon are coming out with new printers that Kopykake doesn't have all the parts for the edible ink system for. The Epson printers are pretty reasonably priced, and I think I am going to go with the C88+. The rep said this was a good one for general use (I don't decorate cakes professionally-YET!!!).
Kopykake will ship overseas as well, so all you would have to find is the printer.
Hope this helps.
erimsy..........you may already know this but you need to make sure that the printer you have has NEVER been used with regular inks because it could contaminate any food you use the edible images on in the future even if you change the inks and clean the printer well!! It needs to be a brand new printer!!
LOVE my Epson C88 - you area limited to 8.5" x 11", so no large sheet cake pictures unless you tile them, but not really a big problem for.
I order my ink and supplies from KopyKake. Printer was about $70 from Staples. I only use it for edible imaging. So many uses for it besides just putting a regular picture on the cake - I do cutouts on fondant to make 3D characters, use for cookies, candy, love it, love it, love it!
